Last Wednesday in the Russian Museum was opened an exhibition "Unknown Artist: paintings and sculptures of the 17th-19th centuries".
This exposition puts together more than 200 canvases and the group of sculptures that are staying anonymous till nowadays. It includes the following sections: “Parsuna (the 17th century Russian painted portrait) and portrait of the Peter the Great Time”, “Portrait of the Emperors”;“Full-dress uniform portraits”; “Children portraits”; “Merchant’s portrait”; “Portraits of priests”; “Portraits and self-portraits of artists”; “Genre canvases, interiors and still lifes”; “Historical painting”, “Allegoric canvases”; “City landscape”.
The exhibition will be opened till the 8th of October. The Russian Museum works every day from 10 am till 6 pm, on Monday from 10 am till 5 pm. Tuesday is a day off.
